UNP MP Dr. Anoma Gamage accuses the government of getting husbands to become intoxicated with the use of the money hard earned by their wives amidst various hardships and sufferings as domestic servants in Middle Eastern countries.Speaking to the media today, Dr. Gamage said the government was, illegally and without paying tax, importing spirits and producing alcohol to sell to the husbands.
She also said ‘Deyata Kirula’ has become a crowning success for getting indebted to the world, and that it provided no solution to the people’s burning issues.
The roads, hastily ‘renovated’ for the exhibition, are now caving in, Dr. Gamage also said.
She added that the Public Utilities Commission’s call to the consumers to submit their views with regard to an electricity rate hike was merely an illusion.
