UNP Shows the way to be free from Pillay

UNP says that if the Govt objects to re-enact the 17th constitutional amendment,it means that the Govt themselves have proved the statement made by the UN human rights high commissioner Ms. Navi Pillay that Sri Lanka is walking towards dictatorial regime.



Requesting the Govt to show their dedication for a fair society and good governance by supporting the constitutional amendment proposal which is brought forward by their party to re-enact the 17th constitutional amendment, the UNP emphasizes that the re-enactment of the 17th amendment is the intention of the whole country.
These comments were seen in a media announcement issued by UNP Communications chief MP Mangala Samaraweera.

In the announcement, MP Samaraweera further states that mere patriotic slogans will not save Sri Lanka from the current hazardous situation.
