Sajith slams Navi Pillai

Accusing the Govt for inviting the UN High commissioner for human rights Ms. Navi Pillai to Sri Lanka, UNP MP Sajith Premadasa says that Ms. Pillai is a person who kept sleeping while the LTTE organization was spreading daylight human rights violations all around.

He made these comments while speaking at a meeting held in Kurunegala.

He further said that the Govt who has a heavy urge for "national security" has now brought Navi Pillai to Sri Lanka upon a red carpet.

He said that Ms. Pillai has suddenly started to remember human rights when the war heroes of Sri Lanka started to achieve victory.

He further asked the Govt whether they are committing a harm to the country when they have allowed the UN high commissioner to make reports regarding Sri Lanka.

Although MP Sajith Premadasa spoke like that, senior leaders in UNP including the party leader Ranil wickramasinghe is scheduled to meet Ms. Navi Pillai today around noon. UNP former deputy leader Karu Jayasuriya, Communications chief Mangala Samaraweera and the chairman of UNP HR committee Shrinath Perera will be taking part in that event.
